The EN558-1 Series 14 DIN Standard Gate Valve DIN 3352 F4 PN16 NRS (Model 1004) is a precision-manufactured, metal-seated gate valve built to the harmonized European standard EN 558-1 Series 14 (equivalent to DIN 3202 F4 short pattern) and DIN 3352 F4 for metallic-seated gate valves. With a ductile iron GGG50 body, gunmetal seat rings, non-rising stem (NRS), and 100% fusion bonded epoxy coating, this valve delivers dependable industrial-grade isolation performance across the broad DN50 to DN600 size range. Manufactured by Shandong Huaze Valve Co., Ltd. with over 25 years of specialized production experience, every unit is individually tested to EN 1074-1/-2.
The Model 1004 stands out for its dual-standard compliance — simultaneously meeting the modern EN 558-1 (the European Norm for valve face-to-face and end-to-end dimensions) and the established DIN 3352 (the German standard for gate valve design). This dual compliance provides procurement confidence across the full spectrum of European and international projects, whether specified under the newer EN framework or the traditional DIN designation system. The Series 14 / F4 short face-to-face pattern ensures compact installation while maintaining full pressure integrity and flow performance.
EN 558-1 is the European Norm that harmonizes face-to-face dimension standards across all valve types. Series 14 under EN 558-1 is the direct equivalent of DIN 3202 F4 (short pattern) — the most widely specified face-to-face dimension for gate valves in waterworks and industrial applications. By complying with both the legacy DIN and modern EN standards, the Model 1004 is compatible with existing infrastructure specified under either system, eliminating the confusion that can arise when projects transition between standard frameworks. This dual compliance is particularly valued by international EPC contractors and consulting engineers working across different regulatory environments.
The metallic seat configuration — with a precision-machined gunmetal (bronze alloy) seat ring in the body and gunmetal facing on the wedge — provides durable, wear-resistant sealing performance that excels in industrial and raw water applications. The metal-to-metal interface is inherently resistant to scoring from suspended particulates, immune to chemical degradation from disinfectants, and unaffected by the compression set and aging that limit elastomeric seat service life. For raw water intake, industrial cooling water, and applications with abrasive or chemically aggressive media, the metallic seat delivers consistent, long-term sealing integrity.
The NRS mechanism positions the stainless steel threaded stem (SS420/SS431) and bronze stem nut entirely within the valve body cavity. The stem remains at a fixed height during operation — no upward extension. This delivers three practical advantages: reduced valve chamber dimensions in buried installations; no exposed stem threads to protect or maintain; and continuously lubricated internal stem operation that maintains low torque through thousands of cycles. The handwheel position remains constant, simplifying operator access planning in multi-valve stations.
The body and bonnet are cast from GGG50 (EN-GJS-500-7) ductile iron, delivering approximately 500 MPa ultimate tensile strength with minimum 7% elongation. This provides roughly double the structural capability of conventional gray cast iron, with dramatically better impact resistance and crack propagation resistance. In practical terms, the valve withstands water hammer surges, pipe stress loads, handling impacts during installation, and ground settlement forces in buried service — all without the brittle fracture risk that plagues gray iron valves.
100% fusion bonded epoxy coating applied electrostatically and oven-cured to minimum 250 um DFT on all internal and external surfaces. Every valve is individually spark-tested at 3 kV to detect and eliminate any pinhole — guaranteeing complete, impermeable coverage. Combined with the inherently corrosion-resistant ductile iron substrate and stainless steel internal components (stem, fasteners), this protection system ensures decades of maintenance-free service in aggressive environments: buried installations, coastal atmospheres, chemically treated water, and industrial process fluids.
Available across 14 standard sizes from DN50 through DN600, the Model 1004 provides a consistent specification and common installation interface from small-bore branch isolation to large-diameter trunk main duty. Gearbox operation is fitted as standard from DN300, ensuring single-person handwheel torque remains within comfortable limits across the full size spectrum. The consistent design, material, and testing standards across all sizes simplify procurement, installation, and spare parts management for multi-valve projects.
